removing flywheel

Post by arnaud »

Hi.. The flywheel is very attached to the crank..
i reworked the claws of a 3 legged puly so it grasps in the 3 holes in the flywheel of the china diesel.
it is not ideal. you ned a very big one to fit all around.
A trick is to set it on tension and smack it with a big hammer..
But won't that damage the crankshaft??

 @ Graham's method ............ PMSL.

I used a little bit of heat on the flywheel whilst putting a considerable amount of preload on the puller. If that fails a small tap on the end of the puller might do the job ~~ Remember you have a ball raced cartridge bearing in the engine on the flywheel side, so don't get to serious with a hammer.
