anyone considered dry sumping their engine (not counting splash fed of course)
1. Could increase your ground clearance
2. Would let you lower your engine for better CG

Re: Dry Sump
Yes, I mentioned it in another thread. In addition a dry sump system completely protects from oil starvation at extreme lean angles.
Beyond just a dry sump, adding a pre-oiler will virtually double the life on an internal combustion engine. 90% of engine wear throughout its lifetime occurs at startup, when the pressurized oil isn't there to separate & protect bearing surfaces. A pre-oiler has a cannister that is pressurized by engine's oil pump by tapping into oil galleries, with a solenoid valve at inlet/outlet. At shutdown the solenoid valve closes, trapping pressurized oil in cannister. At startup the solenoid valve is energized to open, dumping the pressurized oil through oil galleries & bearings right before engine ticks over: full protection!
A very inexpensive way to double engine life.
Quite simple to build and several references online, such as Accusump. Not all that expensive to buy either.
