I would like to hear how you mated a chain drive. I know the shaft is part of the frame so I could see it taking some fab work to cut it out and weld a new arm in, but I can do most of that in my small garage if need be. I just have not seen any examples. I have a ton of room in this thing to put my...

Shaft Driven
Well I finally ended up with an actual bike. It was free so I can't complain. It is a 1985 Honda Sabre V65 1100CC. In pretty rough shape and I'm doing a complete tear down and rebuild. I was wondering if anyone was using a shaftdriven bike. It has a 6 speed and it would be nice to leave stock of cou...

After I posted this last night I went online to see what I could find out about them even though they had no name brand. I found similar ones and read a lot of reviews on Northern Tool about the Extreme duty Converters. Every single person said they were crap an either a tooth broke on it within an ...

Yes I know th engine is quite a bit smaler. I don't mind doing frame modification. I like piddling around in the garage with the welder and cut off tools :). Just hopefully the bike allows for that much room. If not well I have a free bike to barter for another one :) So they make a 50 series eh? Ye...

http://www.heeters.com/kartclutches.shtml Found this site today. Not sure what the main difference is with these and the Comet Series. The 3rd one down could handle the 10HP clone and is easily adjustable. Also looks to be considerably cheaper. What is your take on these. Also seem to have a nice as...

New Build
Well I have been waiting 1 year now to do this project and I'm finally doing it. Yesterday I was able to obtain a 1973 Kawasaki Longhorn Enduro 350 for the great price of FREE!!!! The engine went toast but the rest is good to go minus a broken tail light. I don't know anything about this bike but wi...

Wow. That is quite impressive. If you could get 18 HP out of that thing it would be a whole new beast. Diesel Dave where you at :?: I think in the name of all home built diesel motorcyclists (of which I am not yet but hope to be) you need to let us now how it is going. I'm going to see today if I ca...

Do you have any more detailed information on the turbo's l-100 experiment. Did you ever try a larger manifold? Besides being annoying would the pulsing really hurt anything as if I could do something similar yet a tad better I would as I do mostly highway speed. did it have any problems with the oil...

What size turbo is that you have there? I noticed a reply on this post about a turbo for 500cc to 1300cc turbo. I was doing some looking a few weeks back and about the smallest I could find was a Garrett GT12. Good for 400cc to I can't remmeber. Perfect to a tad big for the 406cc clone. It would add...

Hello, Just wanted to say thanks for that write up on the positives and negatives. Not only is it helpful but it gives me a fuzzy feeling that the 10HP yanmar clone is the way to go. If and when hopefully soon I get the engine I would be interested in a write up or questioning one of you on the RPM ...

Thank you for the info. I don't know what I'm going to do for a bike yet but some thing light and with some character. Older that is for sure. Probably an enfield or similar. I only have around 6 stop lights on the 15 mile trip to work so that isn't to bad and they are spread out except for the last...

Well I read the last post and it answered a lot of the technicle questions I guess I had. Any input on gearing out there? Sounds like the comet 500 is a good way to go at a minimum. As far as sprocket size ect for the jack drive is there a good set up or is it all dependant on the bike becuase of we...

Torq-a-verter @ jack Drive
First of all Hello. I'm a diesel nut originally from Oregon now in North Carolina. For the past year I've been wanting to build a diesel bike and have been looking around for a couple months and finally found you today. Brent if you are out there I noticed you were near by....about 30 minutes which ...
