Which 10hp diesels with electric starts will fit an Enfield

Post by Sibbo »

Which 10hp diesels with electric starts will fit an Enfield without cutting the frame ? I'm very interested in an aerofairing but it may restrict kickstarting room .I know how to kickstart an Enfield , I've had one before ...if not now but there may not be room on what I build .

It appears the Chinese clones will not fit with the starter installed ,it has to be removed .Any other possibilities ?

I've found an answer to this .In my state if the bike is pre 1970 I can modify without restriction .... and I've found a 1965 Indian import that I can chop and fit a clone with starter fitted .

The Hatz 1B40 will fit with the electric starter still installed.

(Check out Sommer Diesel Enfield)

The Hatz is ridicolously expensive though.

Cheers,
