The man is a one-man diesel bike industry. I'm rather sure that one of the major manufacturers is missing out on an incredible engineering talent here...

I wish I had the time/money/ability!

What I find interesting is his answer to my question on Youtube about the CVT.
Hieko wrote:i used orginal cvt from liegier microcar what was used for that engine.

Part of Heiko's responce I did not at first understand. He mentioned "is ibc from Canada" and that meant nothing to me. Little research found the answer. IBC makes CVT units. They are based in Canada. Apparently they supply the CVT for the MicroCar he mentioned.

Looks like a good setup, wonder if one of those V twin diesels would fit up just as well, the CX500's had a really nice note, I had two of them years ago, biggest problem with the petrol V-twin was stator burnout and from my own negligence big end wear :). Although what can you expect with 120K on the clock from and engine that if I remember rightly had a redline around 10K.

The differential in the CX500 is fairly strong, gear ratios from memory were around 3.1:1 which has to be a good ratio for a CVT ??

Nice job Heiko, look forward to seeing more vids ;)

yes a cvt drive in combination with a cardan shaft final drive is awesome.
I wonder if it can be done with a yanmar clone, or that the final drive will take too much power, and chain transmission is preferable.
Waiting for someone who will rebuild an ural or dnepr with round wheels and do a similar conversion!
