New Guy

Post by Mr Lugnuts »

Hi everyone, I'm a new guy and I'm putting a Ruggerini RD211 into a 1960 Ural w/ sidecar. (see pix) I haven't decided whether or not to use the original tranny or a stand alone box although I'm leaning towards the stand alone. I was given a GS400 Susuki engine/tranny and I'm thinking about cutting out the engine and closing it up and using it as sort of a test platform for proof of concept. If it worked, I'd go to a heavier Jap gear box since I think the Rugg (which will have air pump normalizing for high altitude riding) would tear it up over time. I considered a CVT and although I think it's a more practical choice, I simply like crunching gears.Any advice would be appreciated. Now let's see if I can link a pix of my bike below:

I could offer some good advise if you need, I sent a PM, call me if you like. I also have and adaptor to mate the RD211 to your transmission, and have a set of 10/32 gears wich will kick your top speed up to a more practical speed.
