Nice :) Looks the part having the turbo mounted, will be interesting to see how it goes - I've got a turbo here but reluctant to put it on the one lunger, probably use it for something else.

thanks andrew, i have had it running on a homemade dyno, "load simiulator" it seems to work well, cuts down on the smoke and runs alot better then it did befor, however there are other factors to its "running better" i got the timing set proper and sync the pumps proper, but it makes boost and sounds very healthy

    Mmmm, that's hot.

How did you go about setting (or testing) the timing and syncing the pumps? What model of turbo is that?

hi phil, its this turbo http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/MOTORCYC ... ccessories

    hope the link works.

as for setting timing, i made a pointer and a fixed timing plate and with a degree wheel and dial guage i found 0 degrees, also the engine is 80 degrees between the v and not 90 degrees.
then to sync the pumps i used syringes and an electric motor to spin the diesel and cc the 2 pumps till they were the same.
i bought an injector testor and tested them, they pop at 2500 psi.

i hope this was helpful info

That's great TCFB, thanks for the info.

What boost are you running? To go from 140kph up to 160kph is a serious increase in power. How far off was your timing and your pump syncing? How much of the perfomance increase do you attribute to the tuning alone? Of course, the turbo will work synergistically with the tuning. Awesumma powa!

phil, im not sure i can answer all your questions, but i can try.
boost pressure is over 9 psi.
hp output i dont know, i dont have a dyno to get those numbers.
the pump timing was off about 6 degrees on one pump and the sync was way out to lunch.
i drove it a bit more and it really seems to work well, 6th gear pulls easy at 2500 rpm = 120kph and no smoke, seem to maintain hills well too, more time is need to see how it will hold up or if it explodes
