Hatz 1B40 decompression system
Can anyone elobrate on the Hatz decompression system? The pullstarter shows a guy pulling the rope until compression, then rolling the rope back and pulling for start. For a 1:22 compression ratio it seems unnaturally easy to turn the flywheel by hand. However, there is no hissing noise from the valves or anything.
'92 Enfield + Hatz 1B40: street legal, weld up stainless exhaust, check engine rpm and change final drive sprocket.

If it's anything like the Yanmar/Yanclones, it holds the exhaust valve down a fair way over the compression stroke, so much so it will not hiss but not far enough to hit the valve on the piston crown.

Apparently it has some kind of autodecompression, I don't know if the Yanmars have this.

No, you have to physically pull the lever down on the Yanmar/Yanclone.
