Yanclone and Ruggerini cranks: straight or tapered?

Post by albertaphil »

I have a Ruggerini 650cc with a tapered crankshaft. Does anyone know what the dimensions of this crank is (dia. and taper).

I also have a 10hp yanclone out of a generator with a tapered crankshaft. The yanclones sold by Princess Auto (if you're Canadian, you'll know the store I'm talking about:) are straight crankshafts. What are all you oil burners running?

Cardan crew often use tapered, Enfield gearbox types use straight, dunno about Comet. Try the Hoffco site or call a dealer? I'm using straight Hatz without keyway, but this wasn't by choice. Use the keyway if you can.

I know for sure Comets come in a range of different shaft diameters (straight).
'92 Enfield + Hatz 1B40: street legal, weld up stainless exhaust, check engine rpm and change final drive sprocket.

I'm using yanclones with the straight shaft and 6mm keyway, end of shaft is also drilled and tapped.
