Fabrication tolerances of the Punsun V2 Engine

Post by Zem »

Hi,
Punsun_deckel.jpg
This Picture shows two Punsun Crankcase Covers. The right one was the one that was delivered with my engine. It has a punchmarked main bearing so I ordered a new Crankcase Cover from an old 812cc engine with a correctly mounted bearing. As you can see the left Cover comes without threads and a stripped centring ring.

Now I have two Crankcase Covers which I can use as paperweight!

best regards

Hans

Just brilliant hey! :? Is there anyway you can press out the good bearing from the new case and place it in the original one.

Tapping the holes in the new case seems to be achievable, but I can see a pain in the butt especially with blind holes, one must be very careful and use plug taps after starting with tapered ones. The mention of the stripped centre hole sounds bad?

A ;)
