Amazing isn't it. Parts that cost nothing to make have insane margins, and real parts that actually take time and effort to make have reasonable margins. The wonderful world of price marketing
'92 Enfield + Hatz 1B40: street legal, weld up stainless exhaust, check engine rpm and change final drive sprocket.
I remember reading somewhere that a UK bike mag worked out it would cost something silly like £40k to build a Suzuki Bandit out of dealer parts! Cant back this up with google at the moment though....

dave, are there no jobber filters available?
do you have the part numbers handy for both those filters, im curious what they are worth in this part of the world.
i picked up a filter for the punsun , same as a daihatsu for under $3 cad
I've yet to find an alternate for the little Lombardini ones.
The screw on cannisters are available from pretty much anywhere, but as I spent so much money a brand new engine I'm not about to drop the warranty for the sake of a 7 quid filter.
Some cannisters have non return valves in them to prevent the oil system draining down when shut off but not in this case.
Dave, you may have solved a mystery for me.. For some while now my cars oil light takes a while each time I start it, bet that little oil control valve is missing from teh filter
It is not only oil filters that cost too much, I just paid 26 euros ( about £23 for an air filter for our lawn mower
