Convert a Yamaha 750 to diesel?

Post by MntBker »

I am looking to convert a Yamaha 750 to diesel. I was not totally sure where to start with the bike or what size engine i would need. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I am also open to any other alternative energy style project for this motorcycle (air-powered, hybrid, battery).

Thanks here are some pictures

That's the best I could do with that picture, Sam. The new forum doesn't like large pictures :(

There is currently a limit on pic size of 250k or something like that. Want it turned up? What would be sensible - a meg or something?

If you have an XS750 http://www.bikez.com/motorcycles/yamaha_xs_750_1977.php your bike weighs 560 lbs and is shaft driven. It's hard to answer your question without knowing several things. What is the objective of your build? What kind of acceleration and top speed do you need to be satisfied with the bike? How much money do you intend to spend? How large of an engine do you plan to use? Do you want a manual transmission or a CVT?
