As many of you know I've been riding my diesel Enfield now for 4 1/2 years and over 70,000 miles. It's been a brilliant ride and I've decided that more dieselbiking is needed so I took the decision to sell off the rest of the bike fleet (all petrol bikes) and take the plunge.
Heiko's tallents have been recognised as an artist in creative metalworking and this was evidenced in the two Harleys I saw at Hamm, and his blue Triumph Tiger he posted on You Tube some time back.
As I fell in love with the diesel adveture bike theme, I asked Heiko to make another Tiger for me.
Another amazing bike from Heiko. It looks fantastic and like it's going to put paid to any enjoyable bimbles with you out in the wilds of Essex! Rather than battling it out up and down hills on the Enfields, where some slight advantage might mean an overtake is possible, I'm going to see a brief puff of smoke and you'll have disappeared.
Very much forward to seeing it in the flesh - hope you can bring it over soon.

I've bought a tiger frame off ebay to play around with my engine and box. I think that it might fit although the engine is still not running quite right as per my other post in the tech forum. Also can't find a complete tiger of this vintage at the moment.

Hrm, I recall you posting somewhere that 3000rpm would be plenty to have it run at acceptable speeds. Can't you spend a weekend on some M-class highway
'92 Enfield + Hatz 1B40: street legal, weld up stainless exhaust, check engine rpm and change final drive sprocket.
Given the state of the UK's motorways you can rarely go for more than a few miles without a 50mph roadworks limit.
It tops 70mph at 3000 so I'm happy. The missus and I returned from the Ashford show on Monday in an hour and a 1/4 for the entire journey including the tunnel and local roads - I don't think we dipped under 70 for the 50 miles of motorway.

Actually, by rat luck I now have two Tigers. So if anyone is interested you can buy a complete tiger minus engine tranny from me or maybe Dave (locomotivebreath) will build one for you out of the bike and sell it to you?
He and I will complete mine sometime in June and it's first use will be driving it home to North TX from SoCal.
At the moment due to many factors including lack of Lombardini's available in the US we are leaning toward a B&S/Diahatsu turbo engine. Dimensions are simular to the Lombardini.
Is there a way to lower a Tiger like the BMW F650? Would take away ground clearance but give it a sportier motard stance. Just curious. Around here you need a serious off road machine where you are allowed to off road. But I can be at the US411 and US129 split to hit the Dragon in under 10 minutes from the girl friends house, so more likely I will be on-road only.
For those who don’t know about the Dragon, it’s 318 curves in 11 miles through the mountains between Tennessee and North Carolina.
Standard rear sprocket is 48 teeth. Standard front sprocket is 18 teeth. Standard chain is 530 as already mentioned. This is also (very conveniently) the same size chain the harley sprockets take.
Don't know about you guys in the US, but over the pond its difficult to get much less than 24 tooth sprocet for the gearbox. I'm still trying to get 19tooth Baker one somewhere if anyone knows a place that would ship to UK at a sensible rate.

Looking at Heiko's it appears now he used the bell housing designed for attaching a hydralic pump. He cut out a section of this for the belt drive to run thru. Then with some creative sheet metal work built a shroud to cover rest of belt and the pully located on the Ultima. Nice metal work
If you had it shipped can you please check the shipping data to get an estimate on the weight of your bike? If so let me know if what you determine is dry weight or not. Or can you weigh yours. Not sure how you would go about doing that though
Trying to figure out how much my Tiger project bike will end up weighing with the Diahatsu /Briggs. The Briggs is 196lb engine.
