Diahatsu Dnepr build

Hi all,
progress is being made with my Diahatsu turbo diesel Dnepr build.I had the engine and gearbox plates laser cut from 6mm steel and they now await joining after some careful measuring. I have noticed that if the spacing is made too small that the clutch friction plate center will butt up to the gearbox bearing as the clutch plate wears and prevent the clutch working correctly, so a minimum clearance of 4mm is required to allow for clutch wear, I will allow for this. The clutch is a Bmw r69 heavy duty type as I will be attatching a sidecar and I have had the flywheel turned to fit (you may notice the 3 pins added to ensure clutch centralisation and flywheel balance. I also had an allignment tool made to set up the allignment of the engine and gearbox and it works very well. I intend firstly to screw the bellhousing pillars into place and shim them to ensure the bellhousing ends are parallel before welding. I have cut the gearbox in order to fit the starter motor which will need some spacers laser cut to set the distance from the ring gear to the starter gear. I must admit I'm really enjoying this project. I included a pic of my last build, my 500 enfield which is not quite ready for the diesel conversion.
