The Essex Herts and London Bulleteers had a gathering at the Silver Ball Cafe on the A10 near Royston so it was a grand opportunity to get out for a bimble down the lanes - makes a break from commuting anyway.
Bright spring sunshine, dry roads and not too cold either.
Sluggy the diesel Enfield is once again running well after a mid week hiccup when he lost the lower engine mounting nuts on the primary side - not an easy job to fix 'cos it means the entire primary drive and casing needs to come off. Needless to say these are now double nutted with threadlock
I also found 4 teeth missing off the rear sprocket so it was time for a new set of cogs and a chain - not bad though 42,000 miles off the first set.
The bike is still covered in winter muck but now has an additional set of greasy fingerprints gathering road dust.
I'm very impressed with the Mitas H02 tyres nice and grippy with a good blocky type tread for gripping on the loose stuff, they measure up quite small so a 3.50 on the front and a 4.00 on the rear fits the bill quite well.
So 175 miles covered today - woo hoo
My aim is to get up to 100,000 miles in another 2 or 3 years without needing to do any major engine work.
Hope you all had a good day too.
Regards
Dave
