Flywheel interchange

Post by alexanderfoti »

Hi all

Found a cheap 0 hours 722, woop!

Need to put the flywheel from my d850 onto it. Im pretty sure the flywheel that's on my D850 is from a Z482.

I cant tell from these pictures if the bolt pattern is the same:

D850 :

D722:

They look the same but I cant really read these diagrams properly.

On a side note, every newer piece of documentation I find has less information than the old stuff!

The dimensions you need are not marked on, but if you print these out and mess about enlarging them, you'll be able to get them to the same scale using dimensions which _are_ marked on, and then once you know the scale factor you can scale off them by measuring in mm. From a quick look, 850 flywheel radius is a little over 135mm and 722 similar is more like 105. Bolt centres are not marked on, but at least there are 5 of them and if you need to move / file them a little then you can - location and therefore balance will rely on the central peg / hole, and the bolts will just pull the flywheel back onto a flange. Putting a larger flywheel on will lessen acceleration, I guess, but then I also guess you need it to accommodate your clutch.

Ah that would be why I cant decipher it :)

I already have a D850 with a 722 flywheel and starter arrangment, so not a problem.

I will need to move across the starter and the 722 and it should fit, just might need to elongate one of the bolt holes as you say. Not a problem.
