hi guys im new to the forum and not good on computers....have 2 diesels on the road...one has genuine Yanmar engine ...other has clone...both 10hp...also working on 440cc Lombardini engine Enfield. see pictures of 2 I have on road at the moment...and hope to see some of you at the diesel rally in May.

Lovely bikes well done I wish I could see you at the Rally but it is the same weekend I am off to TT races.
I have a 442cc Lombardini Engine Enfield I have had it for over a year only problem I have is Vibration and loose nuts plus the starter solenoid broke, apart from that it runs on anything including Tesco veg oil.
Any chance of any more meetings for at least we Southern Softies any time. I live In East London.

Did conversions myself....wanted to do this 20 years ago..but never seemed to get round to it until january 07.Started with an 05 bike that had only done 75 miles from new, and with a lot of head scratching and some wrong turns made I finally got there in may 07. I sold 3 SR500's and 1 Norton commando...and I do not regret it...the bike is great fun...and I love every minute on it. Some initial problems with throttle set-up, and not great results with bio fuel, but running on straight diesel its been really good, so I started building the second...which is now finished and on the road. The third..now started...will have a new 440cc Lombardini engine so it wll be interesting to see how this compares to the new Yanmar engine machine. Hope to have long talks with you at the rally.
Nice looking bikes mate! Yes I've always wondered if the 440 Lombardini Engine would pull higher gearing = meaning higher cruising speeds.
Wanting to build a diesel bike 20 years ago also sounds really familiar ! The Yanmar, Yanmar clones, Lombadini's, Hatz engines etc, now make it affordable to build/convert Enfield bikes, the engines also being compact enough to squeeze in.

very nice conversions, i'm half way through my conversion going along the same lines as you, looks like you've got an interresting throttle set up, have you got any close up pics of that area, also have you rerouted the injector pipe? also i'm intrigued by the metal plate bolted on the rocker cover of the black bike

thanks for your kind comments...will try to get you some close up pictures of throttle set-up in near future. Ive brought the actuating spring up high so as to replace it easily if it breaks. The injector pipe on the black bike did not need changing but it did on the silver one. The black bike has the latest Yanmar engine which is called " low noise model" and therefore the black plate on top of the rocker box is like a noise dampener...it doesnt make that much difference...but the engine although expensive is a real sweet one.
