kubota D722 is to weak?

I was so sure the Kubot D722 was the way to go I bought one and a frame to start my project..

The goal was a machine that would be able to cruise a 75 mph and 2500 rpm..

Now that I have run all of the calculations, the number say the D722 is just to small/weak..

I am surprise and disappointed.. I see so many single and twin diesels on this page I thought the D722 would be fine

Please offer opinions!

My D850 in a superdream chassis can do 75 all day at 2800 rpm.

Greetings Kenneth and welcome to the forum. If in fact the little 722 doesn't ultimately measure up, the solution might be found a few hours from you in eastern Kentucky with the addition of a turbo kit supplied by the chap in the link below. He lists kits for the 902 which is the big brother to the 722, and thus might be able to tailor a kit to your needs. But of course for a cost. Kubota built a good number of OEM turbo'd 722s for the military as found currently on Fleabay. Those aren't cheap either. But would surely give you a steady 75 MPG. You might also PM toyotaracer9 who's a member here and has built a turbo'd 722. And then, good luck with the "diesel disease". No known cure to date.
