New Member - Advice wanted.

Hi All

I've always wanted to build a diesel bike so I've decided to take the plunge. I've been watching this German Hatz Diesel Dnepr:

So I've decided to something along the same lines with a British twist , I am going to use a Sunbeam S8 Frame and front end with a Dnepr K-750 reversing gearbox, drive shaft, final drive and rear wheel.

I hope you lot don't mind me asking a lot of questions as I progress

First off what engine is the above youtube using?

How easy is it to get one?

Anyone help with a adaptor plate?

The engine in that bike is an Hatz 2G40,

Welcome Paul The chances of one of those turning up at our rally come May are slim but you never know. More likely to see one in Hamm I think.

Thanks for the update, yes I've decided to go for the 2G40 engine currently looking for a unit If you could keep me in-mind if one pops up that would be great.

So far I've got the following:

Sunbeam frame and front end

K-750 reversing gearbox, drive shaft, final drive and rear wheel

I'll try and get down to this years rally - might be on my other special (petrol sorry )

I've emailed loew but the reply was in German and I don't think he was interested - anyone in the UK could help me make an adaptor plate?
