Just got back from an auction nr Birmingham in which I bought a Royal Enfield Conversion. The bike, named a Ruggerfield, has an 850cc MD191 engine in it. I was very impresed by the engineering that went into building this bike. The builder, Colin Clake, passed away recently and the bike was one of his many projects. Bidding was tough but I won through in the end He's a few shots of the bike and various parts of it.
The battery is on charge as I type and tomorrow I start the job of trying to get this thing up and running. It's not run for several years

That looks great. I have to say what really brought me to diesel bikes was the centarus 850 twin. not too dissimilar looking. It looks like it might be belt drive? any chance of a picture of teh front downtube?
I'll put a few more pictures up later.
The good news though is that after connecting the battery and turning the key...it started first time Well chuffed. Looks like it had just had an oil change, it was that clean Lights work and the indicators have the warning beepers attached to them like what sounds on reversing lorries/trucks.
All in all I'm pleased as punch Would have taken me a long time to build something like this.
Clutch plates are a little glazzed I think but that should sort itself with use.
Yes, it's nice exhaust bracket but the silencer itself is a bit big. Might look better with a fishtail job or painted black maybe. No oil leaks or nothing. It's been well put together.
I broke the nipple off the throttle earlier but fixed it. Gonna have to sort myself out some spare cables incase of breakages on long runs abroad
Yep, this bike will be at the Rally come end of May. Gotta MOT the other one first but after tightening up the steering a wee bit I might put this in for one
One thing I noticed, the weight makes this bike hard to stop. I'm gonna have to get used to that I think. Also the foot pegs are a little up in the air like I'm riding a chop or something.

Looks interesting Stuart. I am working on fitting a Ruggerini MD151 into my Enfield. I may have some questions for you as I get deeper in the project if you don't mind.
Hay cool! So you got your hands on it mate, great stuff. Nicely put together like you said. Will be interesting how it compares to the single lunger Stuart, probably apples vs oranges I guess.
