Just been reading about this in the What Diesel Magazine. Apparently it's quieter than a Rolls-Royce Phantom at 70.5db and unlike inline diesel's, has a wider spread of power through the range. Also vibration is very low due to the opposed nature and, as you can see from the picture, is pretty small
I don't quite think it's the worlds first boxer diesel (as the magazine claims) though.

It´s like made to be used in Ural/Dnepr based diesel bikes.
that should do it

Oooo, that looks a lot bigger don't it?
Not much chance of shoving that into a bike

Just can´t wait till someone modifies it to fit in russian frame. Most components can be replaced/substitued. ie ripping turbocharger away. etc
that should do it

It shouldn't be the first boxer diesel. Didn't VW do it as a prototype for a bug with the 1.3 liter?
Regardless, really cool motor.

yup, in the 50's. it was so slow the people who stole it left it on the side of the road and walked way.

That's pretty bad. I wonder would they'd be able to do now with modern technology and a type 1 motor. There's been some pretty crazy bug-builds out there.
