Air filter piping

Hi all

I am trying to reduce the noise of my bike, most of it comes from the intake. I have a k and N bolted straight to the intake like this:



I have heard lenghtening the intake pipe will remove a lot of the noise, however, I am struggling to figure out how to attach a pipe to the intake.

How have other people done it? looking to possibly get a flange and then attach the pipe to the flange?

Because your filter is open all round you will hear the intake howl from all directions. As a test, if possible place the air intake inside a larger circular enclosure (Tupperware) with a large inlet hole at the bottom this should cut the noise down quite noticeably.

Thats a good idea, not too expensive either!

You can always get a large one with plenty of room for your sandwiches as well if you use Tupperware??

Spotted a flexible hose with a flange on the end and a 90 degree bend from an old hoover I had. Perfect for the task, I now have a bolt on filter with a 8inch extension hose, now I just need to mount it behind the engine.
