Just got a Rugerini MD151

Post by Mouse »

Just obtained a Ruggerini MD151 from a popular internet auction website. Some bad spelling and failing to list it as a diesel engine probably reduced the competition to nil but the starting price of £100 meant the seller wasn't without some readies.

Shame its 24V so I'll be off to my local car breakers some time soon to see what starter motors they have that might fit.

Me on the trip home.

I have no definite plans for it just yet ...

Hi Eric,
What sort of top speed will your MD151 propel you along at?

Hi Mouse,

With the current 21 teeth gearbox sprocket, on flat land, no wind and warm engine, it propels top out at 103 km/h, measured with GPS.

With good tailwind it tops out at 112 kmh @ 3600 rpm. At strong headwind no more than 80 kmh is to be expected..

Its more than enough for me, I just wanted the extra speed compared to the earlier Yanmar L100 build, to keep up with the main road speed limit of 80 km/h here in Denmark :)
