new bod in town

well - - its a start.... not much left to do surely..... haha

my plan is to find a daihatsu 3 cylinder diesel and use that. will be my daily hack running up about 70 or 80 miles a day - should be fun

this is what im using as my "inspiration plan" type thing - just proves to me it can be done. and if it can be done then we can do it, might take a while but still..

my main problem at the minute is finding the damn engine - i though that would be the easy bit of the job... i want this engine [or variation on 3 cyl.] coz it doesnt stretch the frame out too much which will make my commute / parking easier in london...

anyone an ideas where there might be one knocking about?? i found the new ones for £2500 but thats a little rich for this week for me...

Hi Sumo

Welcome to the forum  I cannot help you regarding the engine, but I'm sure someone here can.

The 3cyl Diesels seem to be a good mount, lots of torque and still giving good economy etc.

Cheers

Hi SUMO :D
welcome to the forum! Regarding the availabiity of those engines - I was told that they sold a lot in Ireland by chap who came to the first Brit Rally. He had recently relocated to Ireland and so I guess should know. If you can find a breakers out there then that may be the way to go.
