So it is mainly get the clutch, do the controls and a bunch of other crap.
Started the price at $2500 because it is easier to go lower vs get a bunch of emails thinking you could have gone higher. Dont want to sound like a prick and I'm happy to answer questions but get tired of typical craigslist CRAP. "Oh, I'm very interested, can you call me" only to call and never hear back from them. thats the classic craigslist BS. Or to deal with 30 emails before anyone decides to come and take a look. I could go on all day. If your reponse sound like spam "do you still have it" I may not respond. If the ads up I have it. Hate to have to say all this but have no patience for that crap.

This is a cheap rat bike prototype, not a $25,000 chopper.

A few years back I came across info on the internet about people building bikes with 406cc diesel engines. They supposedly can get 150 mpg (royal enfield made a smaller engine bike that got 250 mpg) depending on gearing, and top out at 65-70 mph. It uses a CVT (constant velocity transmission, like snowmobile or mini bike) but can mate to a tranny too. Dont get me wrong, but from a build/maintenance standpoint, this thing is about as complex as a mini bike. The engine is more basic than a lawnmower engine, no ignition or glow plugs, no points no nothing, just a single piston slapping away. Also a very field servicable engine.
Anyhow, The bike has a title, started as a 1980 CB750, and the only thing left from that is the neck and a couple feet of pipe coming off of it. I should have reciepts for all parts. I bought 1020 DOM (drawn on mandrel) tubing and sleved the new tubing on with rosette welds too. All of the frame/fork parts were hand cut on a bandsaw and shaped by hand. It was a ton of work (now own a plasma cutter). The forks are based on Indian replica forks that sell online for $1700.
The motor is new with about 4 hours breaking time on it. has electric start.
The motor sits on crossmembers and bolts on with stainless bolts, It drives the CVT to a jack shaft. The jack shaft crossmembers are drilled and ready to weld in, just wanted to get the CVT first. Stainless bolts bolt aluminum jackshaft standoffs and 1" pillowblock bearings to the frame. The jack shaft is 1" diameter, I have 4 different sprockets (10, 11, 12, 14 tooth?) for the front and one big 70 tooth for the rear. I have a new chain, may need a link or two. I have a harley brake rotor and caliper on the back (used good shape). The gas tank is new. I cut and welded the underside for clearence (1") over the engine.
I cut down and old harley fender for the rear, I cut a seat pan out of 20 lb propane tank, it is mounted, on springs, ready to go. The forks need some finishing, some bushings, play around with the spring stack, and some little spring clamps. The stem is a 1" so should fit the standard type spinger forks too. I have handle bars and will need to be mounted somehow. A headlight that has a mount on the forks.. The exhaust is all tacked together. Was going to use the adjustable lally column section over the straight pipe to simulate a muffler heat shield. I have a 2x6" k&n filter and started the filter housing. Have a glass bowl seperator/filter for the gas tank. The bike needs axles and the tires are just for build purposes/yard testing.
Most people use a Comet 500 series CVT clutch. It costs about $450 for the set up. About a year ago the clutch was out of production as the company was bought out. They are now being made again. That stalled my project and never got going again. I wanted the clutch in hand for fabrication purposes.
