I'm Richard, Ural if you like. I've been around bikes for an long time, at least more than my mum wants to recount. Anyway, after goning to the "Bat & Ball" this summer I was inspired by Mouses's VW direct drive bike and having a spare Ural frame, lots of transmission bits and a 1.5 ltr Isuzi engine, a MIG welder etc. what should happen? Of course one's day dreams do not come true at the drop of a hat so some work is involved and as it turns out I have been thinking of car engined bikes for some time so many things started to fall into place. Progress is good, the basic bike is together with a mirade of detail to sort out and then we (I?) have the proplem of making it passably legal. All I have for the original frame , now much modified is the Ukrainiane "Passport" and thats it! any ideas on how to proceed with this? The technical stuff I can solve, it's the Legal stuff that gives me high blood pressure. Any thoughts, ideas or suggestions are much appreciated.
