Yanmar 2v78 Clone?

Post by theweakend »

I came across this a while ago http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/48428 ... ngine.html
and had a couple of questions:

1. Has any one used this site before, alibaba? It just seems too good to be true.

2. Under the description it says "Direction of PTO rotation Counterclockwise as viewed from opposite of the flywheel" which tells me clockwise... is this a deal breaker as I plan on using a cvt? I suppose i can add a couple of gears in there so i can get the wheel spinning counter clockwise but how viable is that?

3. This one is just out of curiosity; did the 2v78 rotate clockwise?

I'm pretty new to all of this and at this point I am gathering money and planning so be gentle, thanks.

I don't think it would turn clockwise as it would be pretty much useless for the replacement market. Just contact their rep. these companies are normally fast to respond. Punsun was always same day when I purchased our engines
Finished and riding 1975
CB500t Turbo Punsun powered
hardtail.

This is engine is known to us as a Kipor. Heiko used this in a Harley conversation and there are two others in russian bikes here in germany.
Heike is reading this forum from time to time. Let's wait and see what he has to say :)
