Punsun Timing

Post by DieselFly »

As Thundercougarfalconbird found with his engine the timing was out buy a country mile on mine also  . I pulled my heads do to a weaping right head gasket. I found the gasket was bulged out by 5mm. I checked the timing and found the right cylinder at 23 degrees and that explains the head gasket. The left cylinder was very wet inside and its timinig was at 15 degrees. This engine was the best running of the three we bought so I have more work ahead of me. I removed and disassembled the pump to learn its secrects and had to make up some timing shims. the timing is now at 18 degrees and the volumes are synced now I have to wait till Frank Yue sends six new head gaskets to see how it runs. I have pulled the bike down to the bare bones for its real paint job and all looks good no cracks in the frame etc.

you gotta love the attention to detail in china.

how did you enjoy the insides of the pumps ? sure would have been much easier to use a rotary pump in its place :D
I'll do what i feel.
