I am Diesel enthusiast who has recently discovered the awesome that is Diesel Motorcycles.

I am in the preliminary planning stages of a Diesel bike, despite my first instinct, I am probably going to start small.

Thanks! One of my favorite parts of a diesel motor is the ability to shoot out black clouds like a squid

Welcome Tim, you're the youngest member now; you have to pump everyone PPO fuel when they ask for it at the site's fuel station, and you can only absolve your debt if you document your build with a vast amount of pictures.

Welcome Tim :D sounds like you'll need one of our "Eat my Soot" patches when you're done. Don't aim too small to start. 15hp or more gets you a safe speed.

I just picked up a donor bike yesterday, a 1977 Suzuki GS750 (runs great, was only $375 :!: ), I am probably going to keep it gas this year though. I am still going to be working on it though, so I will start taking lots of pictures and post them.

Explain why throwing un-burned wasted fuel into our environment would be your favorite thing. This goes against what I'm trying to do, the efficiantcy thing.

So if that's your thing, I can't or won't support you in any way.

Sorry,
Dave

Lighten up grumpy. Good luck finding a diesel that does not produce soot.

Not at all grumpy, I have good pot to cure grumpiness.

I was rude by not saying to Tim welcome to the forum.

I had a bipolar moment.

Welcome to the forum Tim, been tied down, down under with this weather :( and not having a chance to log in for a week.

If you are thinking of doing highway runs, as previously mentioned try and stay above 15hp, if you just want to chug around the local streets the 10hp units are OK, just depends on what you want to do.

A ;)
