The price of an automotive spare part has only little to do with the actual value. It is more the transport and stockkeeping cost. I know of a part I designed wich costed 2,83 Euro to make it, and 86,45 as a spare part.

No, I was talking about this one. http://www.ural-zentrale.de/en/silent-block-shock-absorber I dont have this one here, I have only the one with metall outside. But this one should do your job perfect, the rubber is vulcanised to the steel bush. The steel bush has a 10,x mm hole. Outside it might be...

Here in the Philippinens they make all kind of rubber buchings from old truck tires. Real cheap. What is the size of this bushig? It looks to me like the one Dnepr uses for the rear suspension bearing. I am sure we can find rubber for a better price. Alex I think I am going to have to do something ...

Looking good, Have you checked sump is oil tight? best way if you haven't is with petrol, a jam jar full would be enough. No! Oil will leak from holes to small for petrol. Take diesel. Building the bike. Top of my list, bottom of the wife's. When I was building the bike wife told me that she will never ride with me on this loud and smoking machine. Re: CVT belt live
Belt ran 627 Km now and still looks good. But I hve the feeling it streched and is longer now, because top speed is less with the enginge running full speed. I think, hat the belt does not go to the smallest diameter on the driven, and so the reduction does not go to 1:1. I will dieve this belt till...

Mine stays open only in the position when the exaust valve is closed. Did you try to turn the engine to the point where the compression stroke starts?

The cooling seems to help, so I did more. y4.jpg To cool the driver, it would be best to blow in from behind, so I added one more fan on the driven bowing to the front. y1.jpg And there is a gap between driver and crank housing, and blowing air in there would cool the crank and the inner disk of the...

Re: Land Speed Racing Mk2
Normally that's absolutely correct! However, Comet sells a yellow reverse-wound spring P/N 204524A (scroll to the bottom of the page: https://www.gokartsupply.com/4044seri.htm) that allows the driven clutch to be mounted with the movable sheave and spring outboard instead of inboard. This solves my...

I am afraid you driven is installed wrong way. As you have it, the belt will go out of line when it shifts up. in the driver it will move to the right, on the driven to the left.

This rack screw also limits the max power. When is hang the spring in 2a, I also opened the rack screw. And I reached more than 90 Km/h. But, going uphill I left real bad black smoke behind me. So I turned it back in a few turns. No more black smoke, but top speed is only 80 Km/h. This scew is not e...

loch.jpg luefter.jpg I notised that the pulleys get real hot. And I read that snowmobiles have cooling for the CVT. To protect my foot I made a cover for my CVT. In 3b my engine did only 2600, I put the sping in 2a and get 4000 now. I will use the 4000 only for overtaking, normal running is about 3000 with the Throttle little bit released.

The 10 belts from China came, and I did ride, and eberything feels fine with the shorter reduction. And the bronce weights. But, after 500 Km the first belt broke.
I hope that the belt with Kevlar will last longer. Did anybody tried both types?

my mistake, the gearbox shares only the primery drive oil. But this is olso makes it unsuitable.

Re: Harley sportster crankcase hacked for tranny?
A 4stroke is not suitable, because engine and gear are in the same oil. Get an old 250 ccm 2 stroke, and put in a staight shaft with a puley instead of the crankshaft. This shaft has to be made by a mashineshop, but all other modificatons you can do with a saw.
