robin dy41/42 stator wanted

Post by gilburton »

Urgently wanted. Bike ready for MOT and my stator is damaged :( Anything considered the higher the wattage the better. Complete engine considered. I can still take it for the test but to use on the road I'll need a fully charged battery.
If nothing turns up I'll have to look at fitting a car alternator but am reluctant to do this as I'll have to tear it down again :?
I'm still looking for a pull starter as well??

Will this one work? He's taking offers and ships worldwide.

And now I'll answer my own question. Looks like they use the same one from the 30 through the 41. Sadly it's only 30 Watts - but WOW they make a 180 Watt???????????

Yeah I did see this. Only problem is the customs etc rip us off with anything bought from outside the EU.
I'm not sure which generator I've got and I see you have to match the stator/rotor depending on output.
I've sent out emails to local agricultural engineers etc so fingers crossed.
The ironic thing is the UK importers used to be only 25 mls from me but they are long gone :(
The engines pop up on ebay occasionally so I'll keep looking before trying to fit a car alternator.

No longer needed as I have fitted a 2cv alternator which is working well.
Still looking for an engine for spares though
