Changfa Throttle Control
Hi, I'm new to this forum and am presently building a Changfa Suzuki 550 conversion. I don't know if I am missing something about the throttle control on the Changfa as other posts mention govenor settings. I have removed the throttle control plate and levers so that only the bottom lever is still attached. As far as I can see, the only thing connected to the engine is this bottom lever, so the governor must be connected internally. The top lever appears to be bolted to a blank threaded hole. This seems to indicate to me that the top top lever doesn't do anything other than move the bottom one a different amount. So, why have the top lever and why is it connected with springs?
Hi mate,
This is one of those odd things thats both very simple but very difficult to get your head around.
I admit that its only relativley recently when I had the misfortune of having to strip a unit, that it became properly clear to me, when I could actually see all the workings.
However the clearest explanation that I have found is on a Dutch guys Salad Oil Enfield conversion web site.
Sorry Im not much cop with posting links and stuff but if you google "Salad Oil Enfield" Im sure you will find it.
Hope that helps.
