I'm new to this forum, and biking in general. You guys inspired me to build this bike last week. I'm currently driving a mountain bike with a 5hp engine to school, so I figured something more substantial would be nice. I'm not sure what the original is, something like a 1973 rt360 yamaha enduro. I got it running a few days ago with the 6hp and a junky centrifugal. It worked, but I'll probably buy a comet 40 soon. But how do I buy belts for them? I need a 8 7/8" center distance. Where I live, stores have nothing! What would be the best web site to order a belt?
Haha, yeah it was mostly to prove everyone I know wrong. They were all positive I was crazy and could never get it to work! Just painted the frame tonight, and will completely finish it this weekend (besides the clutch...). I'll get some more pictures soon.
I'm glad to be part of the nuthouse. Its a break from all the lamo's over here!
That sounds awesome! Tomorrow morning I'll put everything back together, and will try to licence it. I should be getting my comet 40 in a few weeks, but for now will use a centrifugal. Should I wait until I get the comet, or do you want pictures now?
All praise to you mate a lot of people spend months years planning and you just do it.
Well done it looks to be a good job.
I loved that this is one I knocked up last week.
You are the sort of person we need.
I have just got my Enfield going again for the Third time the starter motor is a bugger and this time it took a month.
sheer laziness.

It is not in the arrival brightly planned. But in the Dreams Men Dream along the way we find the Golden road to Samarkand.
Great little project you have there, bet you will get some attention . Even with the 6hp diesel, there still torquey little buggers, so your in for some good pulling power - best part is no ignition to get wet and stop the bike, although if your going to be doing some serious dirt riding on it, just try to make a good cover for the primary belt drive as dirt will chew it up.
ring bob at comet. he will be able to answer all of your questions, help you with anything you need. although they dont retail, he will tell you who has what you need. he is EXTREMELY helpful!
