Just a quick hello for my first post. Just looking at the possibility of a diesel bike at the moment, may jump on if I can find a way that doesn't call for a mechanical engineering bent
feel free to post up what your thinking of putting together and have a good look through Stuarts website http://www.dieselbike.net/ and other great sites out there that take a look at Diesel bikes.
Some of the bigger conversions are complex, but some are very easy to achieve, maybe with a little help if your not very mechanically minded.
Just remember to ask for help, there are great people on this forum who posses a wealth of knowledge and always willing to help out.
I was thinking I could buy a diesel bike rather than build one but I have a garage and workbench and some unexpected free time so maybe I should consider the DIY option.
I contacted Jack Minto at Classic Motorcycles Ltd and he quoted me close to £5000 and a 5 week build time for a Robin Enfield, a bit too expensive for me but something based on the Enfield Bullet is what I would be looking at from what I've read so far.
Thanks for your offer of help/advice it will definately be needed
If you are looking for a Diesel Enfield in the UK you could do no better than get in touch with Henry at Price parts in Gloucester he can sell you one for about £2600 or supply the parts for you to do it yourself. I have a Greaves Lombardini from him and apart from replacing all the Nuts with Nylocs have had no problems in over a Thousand miles...
try this link although he is on holiday in spain on his Enfield at moment.
