aixam microcar cvt swap for comet???

Post by gilburton »

I've been trying to install this to my MZ/Robin project but I'm having trouble with lack of room as it is quite bulky. Has anyone in the UK got a complete comet drive willing to swap? I'm looking for the complete kit with the cover/backplate if possible?
The Aixam unit would probably suit a larger frame/engine. I know it works as I ran it up without drive to the rear wheel and it moved as it should.
What about an inline car engine with sideways cvt and shaft drive??? Just a thought
The front pulley comes with the original taper/ engine adapter but I don't know which engine it came from ,it is definately Kubota or Lombardini.
The rear pulley is standard 3/4" shaft with 3/16" key.
You need about 250mm between pulley centres.
These units are quite expensive(even s/hand)

I don't think it turned out as well as normal gearbox but hey.
