Hi all
Since having the backing plate of my gbox off, all the grease has leaked out.
Im going to put in some ep00 grease and oil, the question is, how much? Im reluctant to fill it up to the top as this will make the box so inefficient.
Any ideas?

Re: Gearbox Oil Level
I would say that as long as your lubricant level has at least 1/2 of the diameter of the gears and shafts submerged you'll have adequate lubrication. The spinning gears will sling the oil all over the inside of the gearbox and with shafts submerged a good bit of oil would lubricate any bearings whenever you're on level ground, which is most of the time. Also it's not like the lubrication needs for plain bearings like connecting rods as in a gearbox you'll have ball or roller bearings. If the clutch is in unit with trans then your lubricant will have to be compatible for clutch plate friction.

Many thanks, seeing as I'm using a grease mixture, I dont want to put too much in it, as it saps power!
