Re: Comet 94

brad, i use dual tanks- most are harley style splits. also gives me a place to put the fuel pump for the veg and the inline heater- "vegtherm". start and stop on (bio)diesel, and switch when its up to temp, just as i do in my ram cummins. do make sure its well broken in, and that your fuel...

May be decent... dont know? Been thinking of testing one of those to see how well it fairs. Keep in mind mos...

Re: Comet 94

my $.02... my punsun bikes are doing fine, but here's the catch- my first punsun build (in the green-ish kawasaki) i was lucky. i ordered 3 more straight from china, and upon receipt, started breaking them in. one went into my sporty (cvt), one i will ONLY use as a generator, and the 3d i've not dec...

don,
ring anytime, mate.
a "head steady" is just that- a reinforcement/ support from the top (usually the backbone) to help keep the head from rocking and shaking too much.

Re: Current engine choices for the USA?

i isolate my punsuns this way: i brake a metal pan, 18ga metal, 1.25" tall sides, place 1" rubber mat (rubber plate?) inside, 12ga steel top plate, all holes drilled and bolt it together. i leave a bit of "squish room", seems to do fine so far, letting the engine float as needed....

Re: Current engine choices for the USA?

$1500 USD for the punsun is a lot. spares are easily obtained as well. pm for less if you'd like. don't forget the kipor and lombardinis. lombardinis are a bit on the spendy side, but good quality from what i've used.

i would love to source a kipor in the states to test run, but i'm not convinced the punsun is such a bad lot. as inexpensive as it is, its bound to have some flaws. if we know what they are, we might be able to better prevent disaster. the kwaker i built over a year ago is still running strong. lacking cash is the PERFECT opportunity to start designing your build. so when you find bits you need little by little, you're not throwing cash away hoping its the right thing (like i do at times).
